Blissful Lord Shiva

Shiva (or Siva) is one of the chief deities of Hinduism. His name means "Auspicious One."
Shiva is known as the destroyer God because he removes all evil from the world. His wife is the goddess Parvati. He has a blue neck because, according to Hindu legend, he swallowed a poison in order to save the universe. He has three eyes, the third eye is on his forehead. Shiva is one third of the Hindu trinity.

Hindus believe his powers of destruction and recreation are used even now to destroy the illusions and imperfections of this world, paving the way for beneficial change. According to Hindu belief, this destruction is not arbitrary, but constructive. Shiva is therefore seen as the source of both good and evil and is regarded as the one who combines many contradictory elements.

This is limited edition art that i painted after a powerful meditation with Lord Shiva. I do Shiva chants regularly and i trust his blessings and inspiration was behind this art.
